Dr. Michael Burns grew up in Fredericton, New Brunswick where he attended the University of New Brunswick, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology in 2008. Dr. Burns then moved Ontario to attend the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, where he earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in June 2012. While pursuing his degree at CMCC , Dr. Burns also completed the McMaster University’s medical acupuncture program and received training in Graston technique. He is certified in Functional Range Release, Kinesiotaping, IMS (intramuscular stimulation), ART (active release technique), and Graston.
Dr. Mikes’ approach to treatment focuses on the root of the problem- not only to alleviate the pain, but to ensure the injury is corrected long term. Often health care providers have one “tool” in their tool bag, often resulting in pain relief in some conditions but not others. Due to the wide range of skills and expertise Dr. Mike has, not only does he use the treatment which will best to alleviate the physical pain, but also to ensure the core of the injury is corrected.
Having been involved in sports his whole life, including playing baseball in the Canada Games in 2005, Dr. Burns has a special interest in treating and rehabilitating athletes. He has conducted numerous talks in the community regarding headaches and migraines and treats a significant number of elbow, knee, foot, ankle and wrists complaints daily. Due to his degree in Science in Kinesiology, Dr. Mike provides a well-rounded approach to healthcare, often treating muscles, joints and the nervous system together to get optimal results. In his free time he enjoys traveling and continues to play sports within the city.
If you have pain, Dr. Mike can help!

My health and wellness career started at Purity Health & Wellness. I started as an office coordinator and grew very attached to the environment, it is my home away from home. I am a certified World Fusion Foot Reflexologist, this course was constructed to contain elements of reflexology from around the globe, places such as Europe, Egypt, Thai land, China and more. Bringing together many different techniques. I am passionate about reflexology and how it affects ones overall well-being. I have earned my first, second, and third degree reiki certifications, and continue to have a daily reiki practice, working towards my Reiki Master fourth degree teaching certification. Although I have an ever growing interest in the energy healing arts.
I received my Massage Therapy diploma July 2022, and I’m passionate about massage therapy, I was the top student in my class, achieving honours. I can do orthopedic massage, relaxation, deep tissue, sports massage, pediatric massage, pregnancy massage, lava shell, silicone cupping and I have my certification for K- taping. I have had the luxury to hone in on techniques that benefit clients with autoimmune diseases, connective tissue disorders and fibromyalgia, that decreasing the chances of flare ups.
When I am not treating clients, I am a Mom and when I get the time I love to cook, bake, garden, meditate, do yoga, hike, camp and ultimately try to spend as much time as I can in nature.

While pursuing his Bachelor of Kinesiology at the University of Alberta, and competing as an
injury prone track and field athlete, Stephen learned the importance of therapy in his life. He
noticed it wasn’t just for the benefit of performance, but firstly for benefit of ones health. Fast
forward to coaching in the same sport, Stephen wanted to be able to implement real time therapy
alongside their training sessions. He thus began his education in Manual Osteopathy at the
National Manual Osteopathic College and has been practicing since 2017.
After graduating Stephen has taken further education in visceral manipulation (VM1, VM2,
VM4), craniosacral therapy (CS1, CS2), Functional Movement Screen (FMS1), Selective
Functional Movement Assessment ( SFMA1, SFMA2), Total Body Balancing (TBB1, TBB2,
TBB3), Lymphatic Balancing (TBLB1), Neurokinetic Therapy (NKT1, NKT2), and Kinesio
Taping (KT1, KT2, KT3).
A session with Stephen will typically be a head to toe assessment, breaking down posture and
movement patterns, and getting an overall map of the tension that is currently existing in your
body. Sensorimotor testing is used to ask your body to identify the main structural stressors that
are contributing to your pain or discomfort ( the area identified sometimes quite distant from is
ailing you). This helps us determine if we need specific treatment to an area of your body or if
we will generalize our treatment to a broader region. Treatment can be quite varied depending on
wether we find the issue to be muscle, bone, joint, nerve, vascular or fluid dynamics, and the
type of adaptation these tissues are in. Finally, you will typically have some post treatment care
to do that continues the therapeutic affects of our treatment after you leave the clinic.
In his spare time, Stephen is usually working on the never ending renovations on his house or
learning to skateboard. When you’re not thinking about what holds you back,
you’ll begin to know what pulls you forward.

I’ve been practicing in the healing arts since 2001. I began my journey as a Registered Massage Therapist. Pursuing a natural ability and understanding for human conditions of suffering, stress, various aliments of the body and the ability to heal with the power of touch, stillness and compassion. In 2004, I took Traditional Thai massage in Thailand, expanding my understanding of the body and mind. This adventure evolved my perception of healing and the power of mindfulness. I practiced Traditional Thai massage for 8 years but I no longer practice the modality in its traditional form. My massage practice has been enlightening, transformative and I am forever grateful for this chance to serve my community. I’ve had a variety of experience/knowledge gained from practicing for 23 years, e.g., Motor Vehicle Accidents, Pre-post natal, sport and overuse injuries, arthritis and postural problems. The majority of my treatments focus on therapeutic/relaxation techniques, acupressure, deep tissue, trigger point therapy and elements of Thai massage. Teaching yoga and Meditation for over a decade greatly assists my massage practice. I am so pleased to be offering Reiki since 2020
